Nothing in Australia is as beautiful as the High Country, nothing. Its harsh, rugged terrain is sun drenched and wrapped in cool air over Summer and presents a whitescape in Winter.
Brumbies run free, Sambar Deer wilder than ever line the rivers and Australian native fauna dig's, burrow's and hunt's under towering Snow Gums.

The future of this crescendo of life, freedom, wilderness and frozen landscapes isn't guaranteed. Bushfires, fluctuating rainfall and warmer winters all push on the ecosystem and reduce the biomass.

We can all do our part to help, and High Country Clothing is determined to make it easier.

INSPIRATION
​
My Mothers people are from the Victorian High Country. The Arundel's of Gundowring, South East of Yackandanda. Whilst work took them to Melbourne, we spent Family Reunions and adventurous holidays in Merrijig, near Mansfield, on the road to Mount Bulla.
​
Early memories of an uncle trying to drown me behind a ski boat on Lake Eildon, hiking through the mountains living off the land for a week to earn the Australian Army Cadet Adventure Training Award, fishing and hunting and hiking all before finishing Senior School.
Lately enjoying this region means riding a Royal Enfield Classic 500 from Omeo to Mitta Mitta, round to Corryong, through Kosciuszko National Park, then back via Jinjellic to tack some folding cash to the roof of the pub before checking the water level of Tallangatta en route to a night at a nunnery in Beechworth (and a few beers in front of a roaring fire).

The High Country is a place of deep personal meaning to me, and I am proud to brand the worlds most advanced denim and cotton clothing with its name.
